Curriculum Structure
A program’s curriculum is one of the most crucial elements in promoting overall success. First, it establishes what the program will cover by defining goals and objectives. Then, these objectives are mapped onto courses or even individual sessions. This process, when done well, ensures that students graduating from the program have been taught all of the competencies that the program sets out to endue in its graduates. The curriculum may be mapped out at the session level or course level, depending on the school’s desired balance of detail and time commitment. It offers flexibility to meet program-specific needs; not only does the application accommodate mapping at multiple levels, but customization options are available.
Physician Assistant Alignments
The Accreditation and Review Commission on Physician Assistant Education have set standards all PA Programs must adhere to to become accredited. Each program has a different curriculum and different mapping, so eMedley PA allows for customizable goals and objectives to be included on top of pre-loaded standards:

Mapping curriculum has never been easier. Upload course, program, and session objectives to align to accrediting body’s competencies through your curriculum structure.
Reports
Run reports to see which competencies are being covered based on your program’s concepts and where there are gaps in your curriculum coverage. Reports can can be run at all levels of a program’s curriculum to fulfill any accreditation standards necessary. Filter the reports by session objectives, accreditation competencies and everything in between. Use these reports to refine your curriculum, filling in gaps and adjusting distributions to match your program’s desires. The reports are hugely helpful when it comes time for accreditation, as you can instantly access exactly what data you need.

Curriculum Calendar
Curriculums can be hugely complex and thorough. The Curriculum Calendar allows for viewing and managing events, like scheduled lectures and labs, in a familiar view. Students and faculty can view the color-coded events in month, week, day, and even an agenda listing view.
Subscribe/Unsubscribe
Students and Faculty can subscribe to specific events or all events in the click of a button. This copies all events that got subscribed to for uploading them to a personal device.
Event Rollover
After the first academic year of implementing the curriculum management module, the calendar becomes more automated because of event rollover. Events from the last academic year can be rolled over to the next.
Create Events
Authorized users can easily add events to the calendar including a variety of details: date, name, description, attendees, and more are all able to be specified.
Publish/Unpublish
Administration has the ability to publish and unpublish events. When the event is published, it is now available to view for all faculty and students. Unpublishing an event does not delete it, but it hides it from view for non administrators.
Integration
From eduCATE, the calendar can be viewed, but sessions and materials (i.e., assignments, announcements, discussions, etc.) can be tied to corresponding information from curriculum mapping as well.
Filter
Users can search or filter events by details such as associated cohorts.
Assign Attendees
Assign attendees to the event to control who will see the events on their calendar. To save time, users can select pre-established groups, such as cohorts, to mass select attendees.

Syllabus Generation
One of the primary goals of the entire eMedley system is to reduce the time our partners spend inputting data. Once any piece of information is entered into the system, it shouldn’t need to be entered again anywhere else. The syllabus generation tool is a particularly exciting way of enacting this characteristic of the system: since much of the information listed on a syllabus has already been input into the curriculum structure, the system can automatically generate course syllabi. This features saves instructors a huge amount of time, and creates consistency across syllabi.

The syllabus generation automates the process of hand-creating each syllabus that’s needed. With the close work of our implementation team, we will build a template for the needs and wants for your syllabi. Once the template for the syllabus is created, the system will pull your data from the curriculum structure. This will automatically generate a final syllabus with accurate data.
Mass Produce
Once the template is created, you have the ability to filter the courses to create a syllabus for a specific one. There is also a feature that allows you to generate all course syllabi at once. Simultaneously, the system pulls all the information from each course and generates a syllabus for each. From there, the syllabi can be exported and distributed through the same page.
Time Reduction
The syllabus template built for your school reduces the time it takes to build each and every one. The automation process pulls the data directly from the curriculum that’s already in the system for accurate and efficient generation. This allows for faculty to focus more on the curriculum, since the syllabus will change with the curriculum if it is altered.

Display your curriculum concepts in a packaged website format with a modern, elegant layout that is customized with your program’s colors. The top bar will feature the school’s logo, as well. Any changes to the curriculum are automatically updated on the website.

Increase the knowledge of your own curriculum. Run reports to see the gaps and overlaps to refine curriculum for the best coverage of standards. Easily show curriculum coverage with the gap and overlap analysis for accreditation purposes.
Alignment Gap Analysis
View any program competencies or accreditation standards that are not currently covered in your program’s curriculum. This information can then be used to mark where those standards are being covered or to reevaluate whether they need to be included in the curriculum.
Concepts not Aligned to Standards
View any concepts that are not currently aligned to standards. This information can then be used to consider whether alignments need to be added or whether the concept should be eliminated if they are not aligning with overall program goals.
Curriculum Analysis

Archiving
Snapshots
Curriculums often change throughout the years. As programs continue to reevaluate their structure so it grows and adapts to changing competencies, their curriculum will change with them. To keep track of previous versions of the curriculum, eMedley PA allows for “snapshots” of your curriculum, which saves a complete version of the current structure and archives it for future reference.
View Old Snapshots
Users can then view old snapshots of the curriculum. Once activated, this feature displays the system with all the data from the snapshot. This allows users to go in and look in-depth at the data and even run reports (link to data management page) on the old data. All other users can continue to simultaneously use the system with current data.
Draft Snapshots
In addition to viewing old snapshots, a draft snapshot can be created based on a program’s current curriculum. This snapshot can then be modified without affecting the current structure. Then, when the time is right, the draft snapshot can be set as the current curriculum and the previous structure will automatically be archived.

Student Assessment
Not only can objectives be aligned to standards, but individual questions can be aligned to standards and objectives as well. This allows for more thorough mapping of when standards or objectives are being assessed, and users can run reports to easily see how students are performing on questions related to certain standards or objectives. Additionally, when creating tests, questions can be searched for based on their alignments (whether standard, objective, or customized topics/disciplines).
Evaluations
Similar to the alignment with individual questions, specific rubric criteria from evaluations can also be tied to standards. Reports can again be run on the data to show how students are performing on specific standards. While assessment reports offer information on student performance on assessments, evaluation reports usually offer information on student performance in the clinical setting. Administrators can then assess how well their curriculum and assessments are preparing students with the skills needed in their future field.
